The Big Blade can be found in the main street of Snowtown and comes from one of the 138 wind turbine generator that can be seen on the hills surrounding the township. The blade is from one of the 47 Stage 1 turbines which were commissioned in September 2008 and is 43m in length. The 90 Stage 2 turbines were completed in June 2014 and have a blade length of  either 50 or 53m.

The total output of the 2 stages is 370MW making it the largest single wind farm in SA. The towers stand up to 134m in height from the ground to the blade tip.

Standing next to the blade gives you some perspective on just how large the wind turbines actually are.
