I came across this while pulled up in the caravan parking bay at Peterborough when I stopped to do some shopping. The building is now permanently closed and I was unable to get more information.

Mounted on the wall of the Paper Mache and Wire Works building which was originally a railroad goods shed, it is an imposing representation of another Australian icon the Redback Spider,  which has been the subject of many stories including a famous song about a Redback on the Toilet Seat. I would hate to find this beauty there.
